g_pickupsDisbled in other gametypes

eg in elim: so it's tdm with pickups and round based. Or make tdm round based but that doesnt make sense because then it would be elim.

I won't make this CVAR toggable, it's against the core aspects of ELIM or any other gametype. I can think of scenarios where you want to individually spawn clients in TDM (i.e. gap between two parts of the map), that's why I did implement that. But this would be weird.

You can, however, manually force this by editing the gametype file.

  • Open mp.pk3 and open the scripts.
  • Find the elim.gametype file.
  • Set pickups from no to yes.

After that you can use the pickup_weapon_* entities and the availableWeapon CVAR to make weapons spawn across the map.

Ye that works. But that would mean that every other elim based minigame will be unplayable. hmm

Perhaps you can exec an altered gametype file?
